Sharing CAPHC’s New 2014 – 2019 Strategic Plan
Make it Your Own!
CAPHC is proud to present our new strategic plan and 5 year vision. This plan reflects CAPHC’s ongoing commitment to being a national voice for child and youth healthcare and will continue to build upon CAPHC’s programs and activities focused on enabling a stronger healthcare system for all Canada’s children and youth.
In May of 2013, CAPHC’s Board of Directors began to tackle the revisioning of CAPHC’s 5 year strategic plan, which was in its final year. This important process was structured to help CAPHC answer 3 key questions:
- What is CAPHC’s Essence/DNA;
- What key components must we protect going forward; and
- What obstacles and barriers might limit CAPHC’s potential.
Our new strategic plan is the result of the commitment and leadership from the CAPHC Board of Directors, senior management and staff. As an integral part of this process, we would like to acknowledge the invaluable input provided by CAPHC’s liaisons, members & partner organizations at the two “appreciative inquiry” webinars held in August and September 2014, as well as from our delegates and colleagues who attended our booth at CAPHC’s Annual Conference and Temperature Check held in Calgary between October 19 – 21, 2014.
CAPHC is committed to supporting its members in their efforts to making a difference in the healthcare outcomes of the children, youth and families that they serve. Our new strategic plan comes at a critical time in the Canadian health delivery system when significant attention has been directed to patient safety, the quality of the patient experience and the burdening economic challenges of meeting growing consumer demands.
Key to our new strategic plan is CAPHC’s commitment to the provision of information and knowledge-to-action translation. To be successful, CAPHC can make a difference for its members by:
- Keeping pace with the rapid explosion of available data and the growing requirement for intelligent integration; and
- By synthesizing and disseminating these data and information to impact the delivery of safe and economical healthcare practices.
Over the next 5 years, we will continue to build upon CAPHC’s commitment to enhancing the best healthcare for Canada’s children and youth by connecting service providers and key stakeholders to realize shared child and youth healthcare delivery goals; by fostering research and brokering new knowledge, and by facilitating educational opportunities and enhancing knowledge translation across the child and youth healthcare community in Canada.
