School is where children and teens can learn important academic skills, as well as how to socialize with their peers and be more independent. AboutKidsHealth’s “Learning” Hub offers a variety of resources for parents to help their children get the most out of school. Visit the Learning hub for more information on topics including:
- Reading and writing skills and reading problems
- How to help your child with speech and language problems
- Health conditions in school, including asthma and epilepsy
AKH’s Learning hub also provides information on how to address a number of learning difficulties in school, including dyslexia and ADHD. These resources offer tips to parents on how to communicate effectively with teachers, so the school can accommodate their child’s learning needs.
AboutKidsHealth is SickKids’ patient education website, which offers more than 3,500 articles, illustrations and videos on a range of paediatric health topics. For more articles on learning, learning difficulties, and more, please visit www.aboutkidshealth.ca.
